Evelyne and Erhard Heumann are a Swiss-German couple who moved from wine-appreciation to become wine hobbyists, and finally full-fledged wine-makers. In 1995 they leased a vineyard in Villany in Hungary, an area renowned for the quality of its red wines. Gradually they acquired land and planted vineyards, eventually building a winery. Today they own 15 hectares of prime land in Villány-Siklos, south-facing or on the plateau. Over 90% of them are delimited as DHC (AOC equivalent). Their son, who got his enology degree in 2008 in Switzerland, already consults, and has an eye to a bigger role in the future.
