Rubén Moure started his wine career making Mencia and Godello on his estate in the Ribeira Sacra (Finca Cuarta), but soon expanded into neighbouring Bierzo.
His vineyards are on sloping terraces between 500 and 700m above sea level. The soils are quartz and slate. As in the Ribeira Sacra the plots are small, but the vines are old, and produce intensely flavored grapes. Rubén ferments at cool temperatures to retain the fruit and freshness.
