Francois Raquillet is an 11th generation vigneron. He and his wife Emmanuelle took over the family estate in 1990. They farm 14 hectares of Pinot Noir and Chardonnay, mostly in Mercurey.
As the years have gone by, Francois has refined his techniques in the vineyard and cellar. Leaf-thinning and multiple passes through the vineyards have brought higher phenolic maturity and greater purity. The distinct character of each vineyard is clearer now than ever before. The wines show well early, with great nerve and typicity, but can be cellared. Francois is now among the very best producers of the Cote Chalonnaise.
